Navanex collaborated with Chantier Naval Forillon as an affiliated engineering firm, leading the design. For this project, Navanex assisted on a contract given to Chantier Naval Forillon by the Mi\u2019gmaq community of Listuguj, located on the Gasp\u00e9 Peninsula. <\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Mi\u2019gmaq community of Listuguj wanted to renew and modernize its fleet of fishing vessels. Given that vessel use varies by season and fishing type, the client sought to acquire more modern, versatile equipment to ensure the sustainability of this important economic driver. <\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

        This Navanex design allows the vessel\u2019s deck configuration to be modified to accommodate the equipment required for trawl fishing. The vessel’s wide versatility enables it to adapt quickly to changes in biomass and market demand. Easily convertible, this boat saves money by eliminating the need to purchase a second vessel. The Chantier Naval Forillon incorporated modern control equipment and customized the interior layout to ensure the crew of seven had adequate comfort. The bulbous bow improves hydrodynamic efficiency and provides greater longitudinal stability. The vessel is equipped with an IMO Tier III engine with a catalyst system that reduces NOx emissions. The equipment meets the Listuguj First Nation\u2019s requirements for international environmental standards and ensures a sustainable fishery for future generations. <\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
