Navanex is a company specialized in naval architecture and marine engineering. Located in the city of Gaspé, in collaboration with the Forillon Shipyard, the company stands out through its extensive knowledge of shipyard construction and its comprehensive client support. Navanex’s mission is to simplify naval architecture, imagine innovative vessels, and offer maritime engineering services to people of the sea.

Growing rapidly, we are looking for a naval architect who will take on a key role within a young and dynamic team.

Your profile:

  • Holds a bachelor’s degree in naval architecture or an equivalent education;
  • Strong team management and project management skills;
  • Structured, methodical, autonomous, and rigorous in your work;
  • 5 to 10 years of experience;
  • Member in good standing of an engineering association in a Canadian province;
  • Good knowledge of drafting software such as AutoCAD, ShipConstructor, Delftship or equivalent;
  • Proficiency in French 4/5 (spoken and written) and English 4/5 (spoken and written).

Your skills will lead you to:

  • Perform load calculations, stability assessments, and structural scantling;
  • Carry out complete stability analyses;
  • Assist clients in vessel design and support them throughout the construction of their projects;
  • Demonstrate rigor in technical drawings and documents submitted for approval to classification societies;
  • Approve engineering plans;
  • Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations.
