A Modern, Efficient, and Compliant Model
Overview of the vessel:
Designed to dominate the most demanding marine environments, Navanex’s new tugboat redefines performance, robustness, and efficiency. The result of precise engineering and recognized maritime expertise, it combines remarkable bollard pull, exceptional maneuverability, and reliability that inspires confidence day after day.
Building on previous projects, the design mandate aimed to modernize the concept of a small service tugboat under 15 gross tons. Navanex brilliantly met the challenge, delivering a custom design using the latest practices in 3D modelling, stability analysis, and weight management.
This concept has already proven itself with the construction of the first vessel, the FRANK C., built by Chantier Naval Forillon and delivered in the fall of 2025.
Key vessel dimensions:
- Length: 11.95 m (39′)
- Beam: 4.45 m (14.5′)
- Depth: 1.88 m (6′)
- Engine power: 750 HP
- Gross tonnage:< 15 barrels
A vessel designed for small harbors
This new small tugboat is specifically designed for towing operations in small harbours where maneuverability, compactness, and power are essential. It reflects Navanex’s commitment to local innovation while meeting the most demanding standards of the maritime industry.
Equipped with accommodation, this small vessel features an optimized engine that delivers power while maintaining a shallow draft. Access to the various compartments provides a spacious, unobstructed work deck. Every detail has been designed to optimize harbour and coastal operations.
Navanex continues to raise the bar in the design of specialized vessels — and this tugboat is shining proof of that.
