Mandate

Designing a support vessel for seine fishing to replace the Canada 100, the longest-serving vessel in the Connors Bros Fisheries fleet.

Challenges

It is often said that small vessels are the trickiest to design, as they have little room to manoeuvre and are more difficult to balance.

This project presented several challenges, including a maximum weight of 12,500 lbs, an overall length of 21’ and optimal pulling power. These were the three main parameters for this small boat, which proved to be a significant design challenge.
