10,3 m (34’) Tugboat

Mandate

Develop a 33’ tugboat design in 12 units for NEAS that is suited to the harsh operating conditions of the Canadian North.

Challenges

Design a tugboat model adapted to northern conditions to serve communities in Canada’s Far North. This series of 12 tugs allowed NEAS to improve its supply service and ensure operational continuity.

Each tug was loaded onto a bulk carrier and then relaunched at its destination to assist the ship in unloading its cargo. The conditions, which are sometimes tough, required particular attention to its hull configuration.
